    Blackford Cenotaph outfit

Hi folks! Let’s keep this non-political but I’m interested in your thoughts on what Ian Blackford wore to the Remembrance Day Sunday service at the Cenotaph. A while back he got a load of flak for wearing an evening jacket to the service. This time he wore a charcoal tweed jacket and a different sporran. Given how unusual it is to see anyone apart from Prince Charles wear a kilt at such an important occasion I’d be interested to know how you rate his choice of jacket, kilt, sporran, hose and footwear for his two visits.

Going on that particular picture, he looks absolutely fine.

    Pictures

I tried to upload pictures of both outfits but for some reason it wouldn’t work. Do you think the tweed worked better than the Prince Charlie last time? How would an Argyll jacket have looked? Also any thoughts on the sporran? He wore a leather one yesterday, not the semi-dress one with fur that he wore the last time.

The tweed jacket is perfect for the event it is after all suit equivalent. An argyll jacket would be equally appropriate as is the leather sporran.

What is not appropriate for this occasion would be a Prince Charlie Jacket or a semi dress sporran. Interestingly a plain fur sporran would have been fine, although, many these days might regard them as socially unacceptable, particularly in London.

    Many thank for your thoughts!

I have a mask sporran which makes life easier because it is acceptable wear with pretty much any form of kilt outfit. That said, I do have a nice plain leather one for ultra casual wear (eg rugby matches). I think he was wearing Isle of Skye tartan. Looks quite good…

Boris, on the other hand looks like he just got out of bed.
His clown attire is getting tiresome.
