    kilt travel

Hi, I had this subject in mind recently. Most of my time in the kilt is spent walking or standing but I saw the dangers of sitting in a car. I believe that I've mastered the knack now. Before getting in, the seat must go all the way back; then it's a case of kind of arching yourself away from the seat so that you are supporting the body weight on your feet and your upper back; That's when you sweep the kilt pleats forward, lower your --s to the front edge of the seat and then slide back into the seat. It's a minor hassle and would probably be impossible if I was less-slim. - Longforgan

......and quite impossible in an aircraft seat (especially if you are as tall as I am and have the overhead lockers above you!!). For this reason I generally fly on outward journeys wearing an unpleated S---t!** The returns are easier because badly crushed pleats can be dealt with back at home.

**I have tried this in 8yd woollen kilts, 5yd woollen kilts and various Utilikilts - always looking, on arrival, as though I'd slept in them for a fortnight!
