^^ What Creagdubh says. I think you've captured the palette and spirit of the cat well, and that the tartan has improved with each iteration. Awesome work.

EXCELLENT news this morning..... I have a very positive and encouraging, AND well-priced response from Robin Elliott this morning. I am seriously encouraged by this, as he turned around the response within about 36 hours, which considering the time difference between California and Scotland, is pretty exceptional.
The price point is good, and without giving away numbers (because until I hear from the mods about Rule #10, there won't be any discussion of the specifics of any money issues in this thread) I must say that I am VERY encouraged. that this project can be brought on as originally hoped - with a Scottish Weaver.
A BIG THANK YOU to Orionson for directing me to Andrew Elliott weavers! Also a big thank you to Figheadair and HarveyH for chiming in with recommendations regarding the Elliott mill. I believe that we may have just found a solution to the issues of getting the tartan woven!
Now to tackle the issue of distribution....but technically, I think I need to hear from the mods about that, vis a vis Rule 10. To everybody....as we now inch towards production, PLEASE keep in mind XMTS Rule #10, about soliciting funds on X Marks. I know that the entire thread skirts the edge of that rule, and it would be frustrating to, at this point, hear that the thread must be shut down. That could still happen, but let's all be conscious of the issue and keep this thread laser-focused on THE TARTAN itself; design and production. NO talk of actual sales, please!! Obviously that will have to be discussed at some point, but whether that discussion must be taken to PM's or taken offsite entirely, we shall see.

Well done, Alan! Definitely a big thank you to John (Orionson), and others in regards to suggesting Andrew Elliot as the potential weaver.

I thought I would reverse the yellow and white as there is more white in the cat than yellow just for a different look.

Isn't that now double the amount of yellow per sett?

I forgot to change the thread count, just woke up as I am working nights now so I have taken down the yellow thread count and added it to the white.

I'm still on board for either variation of the white and yellow.

Glen, I'm still partial to this one but the only thing that throws me off is how severe the yellow is. Maybe it's just me. Is there a more mellow yellow or a shade in between green and yellow?
I respect what Jock said about the eye colour, having seen some in person, but none of the cats on this webpage seem to have such drastically yellow eyes.

The whole business has me confused, but I think your gorgeous tartan would be even better looking if you could find a more complimentary shade to balance the other colours which seem to hang together so nicely.
I know you're limited by standard weavers' colours and I think you're doing a great job of incorporating feedback from a plethora of us backseat drivers, but would you consider trying a variant of this tartan with either a sage green or a different yellow? Are you using old yellow or cooper's yellow?
This is merely a suggestion and isn't meant to derail anything. You may have already tried that and I know your very first design had green and you changed it to yellow based on feedback, so if you decide to ignore this on that basis - I won't be mad.
