I'd wear that. I'm kinda like the Mikey of the clothing world-"Gee, Mikey likes it!"

Alan,
Where did you find these two?
My wife wants a headband in Irish Natl tartan - I figured I would have to make her one!
I literally googled "tartan hairband" and copied URL's.
I think the hat is from Scotweb, actually, but I googled "tartan cap", probably.

That's really not that bad. Perhaps not for everyday wear, but it's actually pretty conservative. Of course, like most of them, the model is VERY thin.

For the person that asked about the kilt pin: first of all, a kilt pin does NOT pin down the flap on a kilt! It only is pinned through the first layer of the apron in order to "weight down" the apron. Just as on a man's kilt, a kilt pin SHOULD be worn on a kilted skirt. It is part of the attire.

Finally! I have some photos to add to this thread
This is a Stillwater Thrifty in Irish National Tartan (my hubby Christopher is wearing the Standard in Black Stewart). I have an hourglass figure, which these kilts really aren't made for. Jerry recommended that I order a size or two larger than the one I was originally going to order and wear it lower on my hips, or have the waist taken in. I ordered a size larger. The stiffness of the band causes it to bulge a little as well as slide up a bit when I sit down. For the price, it works well enough until I can get something that will fit me a bit better (those kilted skirts I'm waiting patiently to get).
I'm also wearing a simple, stretchy black top. I just love how black looks with the Irish National Tartan. My shirt is tucked into the kilt. I'm also looking forward to trying some other tops, but with the bulge around the waistband of the kilt as well as it sliding around and needing adjustment, I'm not sure if a longer close-fitting top would work or not. We'll see.
I also used this pin for a kilt pin. My Mom sent me this and I thought it was so pretty... it seems to work nicely with this tartan so far Since I wasn't using the pin for anything else, I will just leave it pinned to the apron for now.
Of course, if I try any other versions/accessories with this I will post photos when I can
