    You're welcome!

That's a lovely sporran. I have a Nicol Bros sporran, you can't beat them for quality.

I'm guessing that the firm continued in business after selling out to another firm, hence the change in stamps.

I can see the quality is still there!

BTW that Celtic interlace stamp/tooling on the flap of your sporran goes way back. It's classic.

Here it is in the 1950s

Here's a lovely old sporran with that stamp.

And my sporran, just like the one in the old Anderson's catalogue above

Even though it will probably be a while before I buy another sporran, I thoroughly enjoy these posts!

Here's an example of one I think I was successful at not bringing attention to, because I didn't want to spoil somebody's opportunity.

It's quite beautiful and had a very low Buy It Now. I hope one of our fellow XMarkers picked it up!

I saw it minutes after it was listed, and soon I no longer saw it, probably snapped up.

Generally I try to bring attention to the diamonds in the rough that are auctions receiving zero bids, or reasonably priced Buy It Now sales.

The ones like this, with super-low Buy It Nows, I keep quiet. My only hope is that they're not picked up by flippers.

Another bargain nobody has bid on, a Kinloch Anderson dark brown Day sporran, the exact model Andersons had been making since the 1930s, but a recent example. $30 including shipping, no bids.

It's cool to see the old patterns continuing to be made.

This is a stunning bargain, a sporran by Mcrostie Glasgow for under $20.

I just went on their site, this sporran would be 187 pounds.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Scottish-Bl...cAAOSwGAVe6lZS

The listing has a fossil "made in Pakistan" obviously from some previous listing by the seller.

Then there's this one, 20-something dollars, not sure about shipping costs from Scotland.

It's a classic vintage brown leather Day sporran with stud closure.

The seller says possible Boys Brigade but it is a full size adult sporran according to the seller's measurements of 7 inches by 8 inches.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/KILT-SPORRA...4AAOSwgMde5zdx

It's not stamped Made In Scotland but I believe that it's obviously a vintage Scottish-made sporran, a classic style common from the 1920s through 1960s.

    Richard,

I think that I understand why this is listed as a boy's sporran. I am no expert, and may be wrong, but I've looked at a few of these. Most sporrans have a front and a back joined by a third part that acts as a bellows, for lack of a better word. These boys sporrans that are full height and width are just a front joined to a back. They lack the third part of the body that gives them depth and increases their volume.

    I hadn't noticed that! You're right, there's no gusset, it's just a pocket.
