Yes, he does have a flash on both sides. You can just see the inside flash on his left leg! I guess he's just a "flashy dresser".

I don't know if this is a DON'T or not, but his sporran chain is through the leather loop on his belt.

Yes, it was quite a lame attempt, but I couldn't pass it up. But your reply was HILARIOUS!! Had to clean my screen after reading that one! The ozzies are known for their unique albeit very funny descriptive terminology, but I guess that applies to the kiwis too! Must have something to do with living upside down. Well done!

It strikes me as two or three "honest" mistakes for someone who has rented a kilt and accouterments for a wedding and did not receive sufficient guidance.
1. The flash has two "tails" on it, if you do not know what is to say that you do not put one inside and one outside of your leg [balanced]
2. If you did not know that the loops on the belt were for retaining the velcro'ed ends together on the belt it would make sense to use them to put the sporran chain in the "right" place [especially if you did not know that the chain could be adjusted for length]
3. If you were not aware of the proper length of a kilt the bottom of the knee is as good a length as anywhere else. OR if you were unaware of the concept of traditional or mid rise wear of the kilt it would make sense to wear it at your pants waist rather than "around" your belly button.

You are quite correct. BUT- I would point out that a lot of historians consider mid knee to be correct.
From the Scottish Tartans Museum gift shop I wear mine mid knee, unless it's cold. Then I become a liar. Lieing keeps me bonnie knees warm.

Unfortunately our south pac cousins, forget that they are not the only ones, "down under". the good news is that the bit of soup (Tasman Sea) between us keeps all of those 'orrible convicts at bay.
