F-H.C.A.G, you look fantastic. Don't you know that classy and demure is the thing that drives men wild? (Especially if you add fishnets to the modest kilted skirt.)

You should know Arlen-you obviously have a very classy lady! I think the picture in this thread may be the first picture of her I've seen-she's beautiful!

I'm sure she's been shown off elsewhere, and I've just been too generally unobservant to notice.

    Be well,

    Be well,

Yes, I do try to show her off as often as possible.
I am a very lucky man. But then, there are a lot of lucky men of this community, eh?

There sure are. I just wish I could get my wife on the other side of the camera so that everyone could see more pictures of us together.

    Hello,
I'm a female newbie. I am attending a Scottish wedding in Sept. & trying to figure out how to wear my family tartan. I love this thread. I've been reading it for hours & have learned a lot.
I'm hoping to come up with something simple yet dramatic. I will be surrounded by a lot of kilts after all. One question. Do women wear fly plaids?

Crumbs!Me advising a lady on womens clothing! This could be tricky! No, women don't wear fly plaids, what they do wear is a tartan sash when wearing a long dress. You are entering into a mine field as to which shoulder the sash goes over and even after 60 odd years I have still not worked it all out.

Wear a tartan dress or skirt and that will be fine, but as you will be surrounded by men in kilts don't,please, try to copy them ----there is absolutely nothing so embarrassing as seeing a lady guest at a wedding overdoing the tartan bit.You girls have far more subtle ways of including tartan into your get up than us gaudy males!

Now I am diving for cover!!!

Sorry for the ignorance, but what's "fly plaid"?

As for our lady posting, sometimes less is more. As Jock said, us male peacocks are sooo OTT at times!

    Cheers

    Smile For Gypsy Harley Wench:

A fly plaid is the gents version of the sash for women.

I personally prefer the Mini-Rosette sash.

PS. On my way tomorrow to Scotland for the World Gathering of Clan MacIntyre! Whoo Hoo!
Taking 1 teenager (13 yo), my 85 yr old mum, and my oldest daughter (23) & her husband. Wish me luck!
I made 3 skirts, 2 shawls 2 hair scrunchies, 1 headband and one armband for daughter's husband (he's not a MacIntyre). A Walters.
I bought a kilted skirt for youngest daughter to wear! I just didn't have time to make her a kilted skirt myself.
