A Lasses Wear Thread

Ok, I have seen several of you ladies wearing corsets in postings or talking about them. I have thought about this for years and I am thinking of taking the plunge and getting one. Where do you suggest I go looking?
Any suggestions as to the best way to do this?

There's a lot to take into account when buying a corset. is it purely for looks or do you want to get into tight-lacing? Is your bust/waist/hip ratio strictly average or do you have a very defined figure?

I used to work as a fitter for a corsetier when I was a teenager so I got to see them getting made for almost every use.
If you are looking to get into tight-lacing and your build is fairly neutral you can find very, very good quality corsets from the maker Vollers on ebay for a reasonable price.
However, if you just want to experiment with the look then I would also suggest timeless-trends.com

From the little I saw of the MacDonald wedding photo earlier in the thread (in which they were snoggin'), I think the pattern below was used by his new mother-in-law. I recognised it as I just made the bolero jacket for my 12yr old daughter who, btw, was disappointed I didn't make her the entire dress (not enough fabric). The pattern is now discontinued, but still available from Simplicity.

I'm pretty sure it was indeed a Simplicity pattern she used, though I have no idea which one. It looked fantastic, though. Your daughter has taste!

I've a notion to make the Luminous Joan such a thing from tartan, somewhere down the line.

As you can see by Margo's attire, she just has a sash belted around the waist and a simple black dress.
The accessories on either side of her don't hurt , either!
