    I don’t have any pics of myself from that night, but I was the piper in the front rank with the beard.

    It's not the color so much as how you wear it. Like I said, I don't have the personality to pull off anything so loud.

    In the hunting world(horses and hounds) I am very used to seeing colours, of yellow, red(hunting pink), blue, green and various shades of those colours depending on the pack of hounds in question and the age of the jacket. But I really honestly don't think there is any substitute for black evening attire, or some very discreet, blues or green shades for evening attire with the kilt. In passing, I also cannot whip up much enthusiasm for tartan waistcoats and jackets worn with evening attire either. Although, tartan trews do not offend my eye.
