Hamish, I've been absent myself for some time so I didn't know you were fighting this battle. Now that I do know you can rest assured that Gina and I will have you in our thoughts and prayers even more than previously.

Hi everyone - yes, it's me again!
I have been deeply touched by all your wonderful messages of encouragement and support. It has been a bit of a long haul but, following the latest surgery of just over three weeks ago, the future is really very rosy. I had a consultation with my surgeon earlier today and he is more than pleased with the way I am recovering - to the extent, in fact, that he does not wish to see me again! Since the operation was 'major abdominal', I must continue to follow strict guidelines regarding daily lifestyle (lifting, pushing, pulling and yes, still driving for a few weeks yet) for possibly up to six months! Useful exercise is not recommended so I've little hope yet of losing any of the horrendous weight I have accumulated over the past three years . Too much information, I know. Sorry!
The really best thing is that I hope gradually to resume active posting and involvement here as the weeks roll by.
Thank you all once again, and
Take care,
Ham.

Excellent news Hamish.
Looking forward to seeing you again once you get back into circulation, and in the meantime it will be good to see you posting here again more often.

Glad to hear you're feeling a bit more spritely. No rush though, Listen to the good Doctor and take it steady.
You were missed at Harpenden.
