this is the combination I'd be interested to see, just to find out if everything works as well as I think it might.

I'd see what deep blue hose look like with that.

I'm sorry this took so long - these mood boards take an awful lot more time than one would think.

I did three more today, and made sure to include hose + flashes. I don't own garter ties, though I might obtain some before the wedding. Richard, here's what you asked for, along with my (now tassel-less) L&M Highland sporran for comparison.

I do own a pair of Navy hose or two, but I found I liked the Ancient Blue much better here. The muted tone seemed to offer more depth, if you will. We have a wedding coming up next weekend, and I think I'll trial this outfit out there.

I've got to get this jacket tailored, but I think it's the front runner for my own wedding.

And just for kicks, although I can't really think of an occasion on which I might wear this:

Almost a Kilt Hire outfit - but the jacket was only $40, and has a Made in Scotland label. I couldn't resist.

Here's an Imgur album, in case the forum photos are low resolution. Pardon the dog form, btw - our Shepherd is relentless.

    Thanks!

I love the sage-green hose with that kilt.

For my tastes this is the combination I'd probably wear.

It's tasteful and hints at formality yet avoids the all the modern Kilt Hire tropes.

BTW I'd probably wear blue flashes, or perhaps muted red, with those hose.

As it happens I wore my charcoal jacket yesterday, piping at an outdoor wedding that I've been contracted for since 2019.

It's been postponed twice due to the venue being shut down.

I sent a few photos to the Bride and she chose this outfit. I was told that red & blue were the wedding colours, though I saw no evidence of it either at the wedding site or at the reception.

No tuxes nor black suits were to be seen, it being an informal noontime event at a Nature Preserve.
