    I sometimes carry my sgian at my waist between the kilt and my shirt. I usually do this while in my great kilts for reenactments. My sgian is of a later period than that which I reenact so I tuck it where no one can see. Also my moggans don't hold it in place as well as my modern hose with their elastic garters and flashes. I haven't had any issues with it going anywhere it shouldn't, even while fighting with axe and targe. Since it's a great kilt though, I have plenty of folds and such to carry other things in until night time where the top becomes my cloak, but I'm usually settled in at the camp by then.
