Victoria Kilt Night Proposal: March 19 or 20

Hi, all.....
I'm bumping this back up into consciousness since there is less than a month until CDNSushi arrives on our fair island (here is hoping that the weather will be better compared to that of the last week).....

Was the day of the kilt night ever finalized? Steve and I can do some organizing at this end, but a date would be helpful.

Wellllll..... I don't think anyone really indicated any real preference, so why don't we make an executive decision and say: Monday, March 19.

I cannot say what would be best for time/location -- I believe I should leave that to my kind and gracious hosts, as they are far more familiar with Victoria than I.

My only agenda, whether in the company of many or few, and whether it's the 19th or the next evening, the 20th, I'd like to make a brief stop into Swans Brewpub (http://swanshotel.com/brew-pub/brew-pub-home) for sentimental reasons.

Aww mate, wish we could be there! We were just in Victoria and Vancouver last August! We hope to return very soon. Best wishes for a most joyous and splendid time.

Here's the plan:

Meet 'n' greet for CDNSushi and his wife Bonnie at the kilt shop (Freedom Kilts) on March 19 (Monday) from 6 - 7 pm. The address is 1919 Fernwood Road, Victoria (that is in the Fernwood community of Victoria). There will be munchies. There is limited parking in the back of our shop. Otherwise, park on one of the side streets that IS NOT MARKED RESIDENTIAL ONLY. (Rumor has it that the city commissionaires get a bounty on the number of tickets issued.....)

Supper and drinks at Swan's Pub (http://swanshotel.com/brew-pub/brew-pub-home) in downtown Victoria, starting at 7:45 pm. I need to make reservations at the pub, so please send me (KiltedKnome) a PM if you are joining us for supper.

After supper and drinks, if people are still on a roll, we can reconvene at the home of The Wizard of BC and KiltedKnome (back in Fernwood). For those unable to drive by that time, we do have sofa beds and lots of pillows.

I've sent PMs off to folks who have confirmed, but for any others who might just now be seeing this thread and want to join us, or prior conflicting commitments have been cancelled....

We are gathering at Freedom Kilts at 6 pm on March 19 (Monday). We get to meet and greet and mingle with CDNSushi and his wife Bonnie. They should be over their jet lag by that time, so coherent conversations will be possible.

There is limited parking in the back of Freedom Kilts.

For those joining us for supper, we'll meander over to Swan's (http://swanshotel.com/brew-pub/brew-pub-home) around 7/7:30 pm. I checked with Swan's and they do not take evening reservations, but assured me that Mondays are not busy so we should have no trouble getting a table for a group.

Dress: Kilt Casual.......that means gentlemen should be in kilts and ladies have more flexibility
