Well, I found a solution. I'm headed down south for the Camp Verde Highland Games tomorrow. Gonna let my lady wear my SportKilt as a tartan dress. Should wrap small enough to fit her.

OH NO!
That is without a doubt it. 45" waist and 22" length are what I asked for, along with a back pocket on the left because I'm left-handed.
I wonder if the person who "wins" it will feel okay about the missing pleats because of the free sticker they're getting.

Wow, I've got to say I'm surprised. I have a Sportkilt and am very happy with it. The pleating is great, the plaid lines up perfectly and it wears well. I also found the customer service very responsive.
Just my personal experience and opinion. Of course, I've heard that those can be like a certain body part...

First thing, take off the patch...my SportKilt look a lot better without it. Then add some sort of sporran...and maybe its passable for wilderness hiking.
Found myself jonesing for one to hike in but had the same problem with the "tartan" patterns...all so small.
James was a member of this board...who knows what he'll add next. Just wish I would have had a shot at belt loops, some bit of seamwork, and custom length when I ordered mine...whine whine whine.

I will agree with that. I haven't been into patches since I was a teenager and had a backpatch on my leather jacket for The Exploited.

The Sport Kilt I own isn't that bad.
Sure, it's not a traditional, the pleats don't line up to anything, the tartan set is very small, but the material isn't as bad as I've heard described here. It seems like pretty substantial material to me.
But I do know how Sport Kilts are recieved around these parts...

The Shamrock one I have is a decent sized Tartan and the fabric is a resonable weight. the others I go, Black watch and Morgan are also ok for Size of pattern, but the weight is MUCH lighter. I would put it with a t-shirt weight.

Hmmm, thanks, I didn't realize that SportKilts could come in different weights, thanks. Have the Macdonald and Skye Scot tartans and they seem the same.
Know they also make a cotton SportKilt.
So weird...knowing all I know about SportKilts I'm still thinking about getting a third...at least to try out the new belt loops, custom length, and short stitching.
