    Graham,
When I first got the feeling I guess I was about thirteen or fourteen. A freind from school was named MacBain and said he had a kilt. The other kids made fun of him but I really liked the idea.I heard the pipes on tv two days later and being the only one in the room that liked the sound I figured that it had to mean something.
I wanted a kilt since then but didn't know that they were custom made to ANY size waist.I figured by the ones I saw in books that the biggest they had was an XL.So one day after we got the internet I decided to do a search for a kilt just for fun and ran across the linda clifford site and looked at the kilts and saw that they were in fact made to order and decided that since I didn't want to spend the mony for the sewn kilt that I'd get a great kilt to see if I liked it.Long story short my grandmothers name is Ross, and on my fathers side is a Keeler so that settled it. I have no idea what tartan is good for Keeler but the Ross tartan was easy enough to find. It came in the mail about six weeks later and have been wearing it ever since.

PS: hoping to order a practice chanter in the near future and start practicing.I learned how to play guitar without a teacher and am working on learning how to play the fiddle now and hope to learn the GHB as well.and if there are any pipers on the forum here you all can expect some questions in the future.

As for Pennsylvania members... there's a LOAD. If you hit the festivals and gigs, you'll see us before October.
