Check out www.kiltmart.com they have solid black and their price range for kilts range from $50 to $80. I own one of their kilts and i wear it all the time.

You can try Frugal Kilts, and even Celtic Croft have a model similar to the Stillwater and I believe they will customize the length.

Its a fair question, though a quick search would answer it. But why revive a two-year old thread to ask it?
Best regards,

I'm rather fond of my SK. I'm the first to admit that it is in no way traditional, but it's comfortable, it looks nice, and I've received compliments while wearing it. So please don't feel as though you've wasted geld on it.

None of my SK Boulder kilts have elsatic in them, I've taken the elastic out of my Garrison (hey, it was free) cuz I like a firmer fit.
As stated often enough, they are what they are for a reason. Your choice.

Sport Kilts are Fine
I've said it before and to prove a point, I wore my SK "works" Loch Ness to a semi-formal Scottish Rite gathering of the SOKS. No one but my fellow SOKS members, would have known that it wasn't an expensive wool kilt. My belt covered the logo. I wear my four SKs (tan cotton/poly, two tartan poly/vis and a hiker) around town all the time, in fact, I wouldn't wear anything else for shopping, walking the dog, after cycling... Around the house, I wear "wraps" (like what is marketed as a shaving kilt) that I've made. Why would I need to sit on pleats around the house?
CCK (MacHummel) is making my next poly/vis Maple Leaf, but after that, SWK's black shadow heavy-weight wool kilt is on my list. At the moment, they don't have my size.
Also, I have a SWK MacTavish in poly/viscose that I think looks great and wore to our last SOKS night. I reserve my 13 oz. hunting MacIntosh for formal and family gatherings.
Best wishes on your choice.

Thanks for that! I like SK, and feel a deep sense of gratitude to them for getting me into a kilt in the first place. I now own three SKs, one of which is a "works," a few UK originals, and a non-wool black watch or unknown provenance (but bought from an X-Marker, thanks!).
For someone still trying to sort out where he likes the waist to fall, or someone who lives in the hot & sweaty Mid-Atlantic (in the summer), or someone with a baby that (sorry, folks, it just happens) spits up on your kilt just about every other day, you can't beat an SK; at least that's my current thinking.
That said, of course, my wish list is as long as my arm, and it will take a while to get through it at its current length! And who knows, when I get those more expensive kilts on my list (and the little one is a little less gross), maybe those SKs will just be for gardening and housework, but not yet.

If it weren't for SK, a lot of us wouldn't be kilted today. Regardless of how our tastes and preferences have evolved, I think SportKilt deserves, as we say in the colonies, crazy mad props for piquing our interest, and getting us unbifurcated.
