Hey! This is a family forum! Nobody is pinching anybody's knockers, no matter how nice they ask!
Knickers, on the other hand, are an entirely different matter.;)

I'll put my request for 4 yards, err.. meters now, and sit back and wait. It may not be that long of a wait - by my math that's 22 meters already ... or it could be awhile ... doesnn't matter, have three new kilts in the pipeline already to help pass the time.

How does sometime in the spring or early summer sound to the membership?
Sounds great to me, it will give me more time to save and possible get a few more metres.

Thanks again for your help Steve.

Spring to summer sounds like a good time frame.

Put me down for 4 meters.

I just use Google for conversions. It's as simple as typing in, for example,

    "4 yards to meters."

You get the answer at the top of the page when you hit return or click "search."

I would love to have 6 meters of the tartan, but I can't make a promise at this time that I will be able to participate in the order come spring.

Spring sounds much better since it'll give my wallet time to recuperate from Christmas.

I'm thinking 5 yards so I've a little left over for plaid and flashes.

    And what's this about knockers!

Sherry, thanks for the Google tip. I use it and had no idea you could do that.

Well, a single incorrect letter certainly changed the meaning of that post! But in review, it certainly is funny!:-D

Just in case anyone missed the pics, there are pics of a finished X Marks tartan kilt in my gallery...think on page 7 or 8 or both.

The jones was incredible because its such a great looking tartan...but looking back a lot of that jones time was going through the decision making process to select the final tartan pattern and weight of the fabric. That's all done.

Think we ordered the fabric in July. I had my fabric shipped to Kathy Lare of Kathy's Kilts (www.kathyskilts.com) who agreed to sew up the kilt. Once she had the fabric, about late August, I waited my turn for the kilt to be sewn up.

She's also a member of this board and has impecable credentials. I can vouch for her craftsmanship after ordering three kilts from her so far with a fourth when my plastic cools.

I can't speak for her, but guessing she'd be pleased to sew more. The normal way for her to work is to order up the tartan fabric of your choice for you. Only difference here is that its sidetracked through Steve to allow the production of this specialty tartan. Steve's volunteering to be of service again is another huge gift.

There were NO PROBLEMS shipping the tartan from Canada to the US...no extra charges or hassles.

Obviously, I'm hoping for more X Marks kilts so that some day I can hook up with another guy in an X Marks kilts and feel part of the clan

And, since this is an occasional order, don't forget that you can also have a VEST sewn up in the X Marks tartan to wear with your solid color kilts.

Kathy's working on mine soon and as soon as it arrives will post pics.

And, it looks like everyone's remembering to order flashes too.

    Afterthought

The pics in my gallery have to be reduced, so even the enlargement is an enlargement of a reduction....I think....anyway,

Occured to me that if anyone is needing to have a real close up of the X Marks tartan pleated to sett I'm happy to email the full size close up to you direct...about 640kb which is a lot for my little dial up rig, but it'll get there.

    Just let me know.
