Those spats look like they're in beautiful condition, GlassMan! I'd buy them from you, I'm a size 9, but I prefer pearl or dove gray spats.

I've gotten spats off eBay, too, and I've noticed that the straps are usually to short. I think it has to do with modern soles being wider and thicker than those of 80 years ago.

I've seen pictures of you - the MacKay kilt with the fly plaid and pipe. I'm sure you could carry off the spats. I say go for it!

Thanks! I've not yet given up on spats. After reading Nick's post I thought to see if all I needed to do was make the straps longer. That seems to work. The only problem now is that the top button is a little on the tight side. But hey, it works!
