    Runner up to Hamish

I'm a long way behind with only three. Cunningham tartan, heavyweight, for a dress occasion. Plain black, heavyweight, for business and funerals. And I still have my original kilt which is a Black Watch, mediumweight. Over the years the selvedging frayed and a local tailor put a hem in it which has made it too short for formal wear but can be worn lower on the waist as a casual kilt. As I can only wear one kilt at a time and also wear trousers (and shorts in summer), three kilts are enough for me.

In jest, whatever happened to quality and not quantity? Or, does that not apply to kilts? I'm quite happy with the two that I have (while a third from Matt will be on the way soon enough) but I certainly don't feel the need to be 'king of the hill'. Let Hamish reign while he still can and leave it at that. ;)

Why not quality and quantity? You can never have enough of both.

1 Taylor traditional from the Tartan Patch (heavy and expensive but well worth the cost to have the family colors)
1 British Columbia tartan from Bearkilts
    1 Olive Utilikilt
1 McCloud tartan Sportkilt (similar to the Muir and California tartans)
1 Irish National (will be here next week with
1 Pride of Scotland (saw this at the Ventura Highland games - had to have one)
    6 is a good well-rounded number but ...
I like the Amerikilt in Denim, the black leather Rkilt, dream of a couple PittsburghKilts (two-tone), a Stillwater or two, Freedom + the Xmarks 2.

I have the same number of jeans/dockers as kilts now.

CT - have a Pyrmaid Tilted Kilt with lunch

I'll have to agree on the quality over quantity issue. 21 of my kilts are either Thomas Gordon and son,Hecter Russell,Geoffry Tailor or Loccharron.
All of them came from estate sales, E-Bay or from several friends. I had no idea I'd accumulate this many so quickly.

I am in the back of the line with just one lonely 8 yard tank, but I am planning on purchasing a Matt Newsome box pleat later this year.

Sooner or later my wife gonna ask me "Don't you get tired of wearing the same kilt all of the time?" Then I've got to make a decision which tartan is next - Campbell, Lamont, McGregor or Bruce? The last time I made a list I had 18 tartans to choose from. So few kilts, so many tartans!

    When do you stop counting???

    Hello All:

I stopped counting mid last year. I have way too many kilts for my own good. I seem to go on tangents. Last year it was leather kilts (8). This year, it seems to be kilt suits (4 so far). If I had to take a guess, I'd say I have 70 to 80 sum kilts. When I find a kilt style I like, I tend to buy them all. Kind of like my New Rock Boots. I've got 7 pair now.

Last year, I got back into running and working out. So, I now have 8 Spartan kilts. Several of my running group also wear them and as of yesterday, there are 5 people at the gym working out in Spartans.

I've designed a tux jacket and waist coat in black and an off white dinner jacket to go with my "Tux" kilts. Thank God I have a great seamstress. I barter a lot of the work she does for me by remodeling her house.

So, back to the question..."When do you stop counting?"

    David...... Signed, Sealed & Delivered
