You can get the socks in wool for the same price, though I have not tried them.

When they start making an affordable sock which looks decent on a guy with 17" calves I'll be all over it. The cuff on "true" kilt hose stretches so much around my calve that the only way to tell the sock is rolled over is because the pattern changes.

To buy "large" kilt hose I'd have to stop eating for a month to pay for it.

These Hamilton Dry Goods socks give the bigger guys a thick beefy cuff and look great too. If you discount them for not being wool or "true" kilt hose you may be missing out.

The socks I am wearing are Hamilton cotton ribbed with a pollypro under sock.

Perfect Bill, I was wishing I had a photo of mine. I'm guessing I have a slightly large calves than you and the cuff on my sock is as beefy as what yours appears to be. Mine even stay up without garters while walking, squatting and general movement.
