Yeah, I definitely wear a hat during any cold weather, and yes, it makes a perfect temperature regulator.
Uhh... hummm... so, I guess you were watching the first Star Trek movie during a poignant time in your life?

the transition point is the tricky bit - i trim mine in a sharp line just at the bottom of the ear - sorry no pics available today - doing kilt night tomorrow so ill take pics then. best way to sort out where to do the cut off is to start high on the ear & gradually taper it down with each successive shaving until you find the spot that works for you . if you go to far down just remember the next time you shave to stop short of that & it will fill in eventually. remember this is usually one place that the hair WILL grow back ;-)
Cheers!
ITS A KILT, G** D*** IT!

Well, I think Mr. Onion summed it up pretty good. The key is, don't cut it off horizontally. Your beard angles diagonally up from the end of your mouth to the sideburn part already. Instead of curving it up at the sideburn, take it diagonally back to the ear. I have that line hitting my ear just less than an inch below the arms of my glasses. (Geez, I’ve never had to describe this before).
Sorry, no pics. One day I'll get one of those digital camera thingies.

Hey man, she was hot! And she really shaved her head too. That wasn't makeup.
