Much less potential for problems actually since moisture isn't trapped there. Just use a bit of BodyGlide to eliminate chaffing and I think you'll find you are much more comfortable.

If your upper thighs rub together, you will either have to have some sort of cloth between them, like long boxer briefs or compression shorts, or you need to invest in some Bodyglide to ease the friction. Otherwise, if you do much walking, you will rub yourself raw between the legs and that is NOT a pleasant sensation (I speak from experience).

Most sporting goods and bike shops sell Bodyglide. If you can't find it in your area, their website has a list of dealers.

i find a healthy dose of baby powder serves the same purpose for me - just have to make sure to shake off all the excess before putting on my shoes and heading out the door. If not it looks like you really bad dandruff down below which is NOT appealing to most...

BodyGlide vs talcum power vs "cloth between my legs!"

Hey, I have fallen in love with wearing a kilt because I don't have any cloth between my legs. That said, I'd like to learn the experience of folks who have used BodyGlide and/or talcum power. How well to each hold up over the course of the day, etc.?

    Thanks!

I've tried baby powder, it doesn't hold up over the course of the day. BodyGlide, on the other hand, is less messy and does the job well all day.

I have to admit that I have yet to feel the need for either powder or bodyglide between my thighs. Even though I'm a bit on the heavy side, the rather odd gait my injury forces upon me keeps my legs apart while walking. Plus, I spend most of my time rolling in a wheel chair anyway and I think that helps prevent the chaffing too.

Having tried both, I find BodyGlide lasts MUCH longer than powder. It'll really give you a "leg up" on preventing chafing. And you don't have to slather on the BodyGlide (like I first thought) for it to be effective, either. I find it holds up well in hot, sweaty weather, too, & as a native of Phoenix, Arizona, when I'm talking hot weather, I'm meaning like 1-meter away from Hell - H-O-T HOT! (Will someone PLEASE send us some rain - we're on day 136 w/o rain!!! That's extreme even for here...)
Happiness? I'd settle for being less annoyed!!!

And if you get up enough speed in the chair you will have a good updraft that will aid in ventilation!!!

I have a sister who is wheelchair bound and have spent many many hours riding around on the back - always fun to go to the top of a nice long ramp & dare her to dare me to ride down the ramp standing on the footrests in the back of the chair. always a fun ride but stopping is sometimes a b1tch!!!

We took the dog for a walk yesterday and I got a good stiff 33 degree wind up my kilt that definitely chilled things down a little.
