I use Mozilla all the time, and am not aware of how to remove the ads, I think that as they are"sort of" embedded it wouldn't be possible.
But as most have said ,it's easy enough to ignore them if it helps to keep the site going.

Iolaus and paulhenry I use firefox as well, and an updated version at that. You can block pop-ups if you go to tools, options then tick the appropriate box. This block the ads tho as you said paul. I just ticked the "load images for originating web site only" square. this may work.

I'd be more than happy to remove the google ads and replace them with relevant kilt related or celtic related ads if someone would like to stepup as a sales person. PM me if you think you can sell an ad.
As a matter of fact I will make it a contest. For everyone that sells an ad you will be given some special privledges. One of those will include the ability to customize your user title. Hmmm. I am liking this idea. I think I will create a new post on it!

I just tried that and then found out in the next post I read, that if a picture is posted on another web site to be shown here, we don't see it. For example the picture of the boy in the post, Dad is Proud, didn't show up with that box checked. I just unchecked it.
DALE.

The ad-block option in firefox is an extension. go to mozilla com and search for the "ad-block" extension. And while you're there, get "adblock filterset g," which is a database of automatically updated ads to be blocked.

Please keep in mind that while most people are not very recpetive to ads, without them there would be some fee attached to using what I am sure will be a conrnerstone in the kilted community in the near future ( as if it isn't already!). Until such time as we can find an alternative means of keeping this site funded...the ads are a minimal price to pay for access to such an intelligent, lively, and often hilarious kilted resource!
