    Hence, the problem when doing genealogical research of so many alternate spellings of a name. Many people did not write their name, so when a name was recorded, the clerk (or whoever) spelled the name the way he thought it sounded.

    Surprising how many connections there are. The story goes that one branch of clan Morrison was originated by a Norseman. (Gilmore is a sept of clan Morrison.)

    Well the fact that they have control over their own destiny for one, that's a major factor in my admiration for them, and what I think we should learn from them.
    Then there is the small matter of their "oil fund," Norway (IIRC) has the highest GDP per head in the world, that's another reason.

    All this with less resources than Scotland.

    Somethings rotten, and it's not in the state of Denmark, it's in Scottish politics.
