I'm starting to scheme for a weathered County Down tank. I think it'll look pretty good with brown belt/sporran/shoes.

Yes, the X Marks tartan is handsome. Can anyone point me at a picture of the Carolina tartan. I drove through there about forty years ago so I can wear it. ;]

    Thank you,

    Favourites??

Hi, gang! Well, I love the colours in my Hunting Modern MacNicol and I am anxiously awaiting my Dress Red MacNicol Modern, too. Other than that, the Carolina really has nice colours in it. So does Vermont and Connecticut (where I grew up)...and I have a nasty fascination for the loud MacLeod with its black, yellow and the red overstripe - you can see that one coming down a dark alley!!

I REALLY like Holyrood. I "fell" for it when I learned that one of the swatches I'd gotten from N. Bately was called "Holyrood".

I'll likely never own one, but I really like the fall colors in the Canadian Maple Leaf tartan.

...and the California State Tartan, which lands in there about even with the X Marks tartan.
