I completely agree. Cowboy boots with a kilt are on my list of the most ridiculous footwear that one can wear with Scottish attire.

I was at a Highland Games one year when I saw a guy in a tartan kilt with a cowboy hat, Prince Charlie jacket and vest, and cowboy boots. It didn't look right at all.
