Is that an Engineer castle on you belt buckle? I had orders to go to the 535 En Co (CSE) back in 1989, but ended up getting diverted to the 82nd En Bn in Bamberg. Great tour!
Yes, I was an engineer on 4 years active duty and several years in the Reserves. Bamberg is a nice town, been there several times. The US Army is drawing down in Europe and Bamberg is slated to close in a few years.
I laced the buckle and the catch in because it seemed easier than rivets or velcro. I like it though. The length of the belt can be adjusted by punching another set of holes in the part that is folded to the inside, and relacing. Not as easily as velcro, but it works for me. For my next belt, I will be more careful of the spacing of the knotwork, etc. around the circumference.
