WOW! What a slew of responses! Y'all sure know how to make a guy feel welcome!
As for Jeremiah's, yep, it is still there. I love to go antiquing downtown, and stop by for a beer while strolling about.
Yes, 911 work is front lines. Especially last night, as a guy who had placed second in a knife fight lurched into the comm center, leaking from several holes that God didn't put there. Lots of direct pressure and, well, insistent radio traffic with the medics assuring them that I wasn't kidding, and that we had a level one trauma victim. I've done my time on the streets, and I like my radios, thank you very much!
As for the January 26 kilt night, I won't know for a week or so. I am supposed to be off that night, but one of our guys is quitting, and I'm not sure when his last day is. I'll just have to play it by ear. But getting away for an evening would be cool.
Thanks for the great welcome, guys!
Andy

Dude! I love the Paducah-Murray Kentucky area! (Is Jerimiah's still in downtown Paducah?) You are right ... it is not far from Memphis. Hey! the 26th of this month, a friday we are having a kilt night downtown. If you think you can come PM me or Beuth Sim. We will try to assist in helping you find inexpensive lodging.

Welcome from Alabama. I've been to Paducah and Murray for the festival to compete in the heavy athletics. There is some beautiful country up through there.
