As I mentioned, we would love to learn more about Scotch whisky. Can anyone recommend a good whisky distillery tour?
The Whisky Heritage Centre in Edinburgh is an interesting tour. A bit hokey, but their restaurant (Amber) downstairs makes up for that.

You *could* just skip the tour and go to the restaurant, but where's the fun in that?

On the lunch menu, I highly recommend their strips of beef in whisky peppercorn sauce and my wife recommends the cornfed chicken breast with honey and thyme.

Oh... and if you *really* want the single best accommodations we stayed in in Edinburgh (have to qualify that so as not to make P1M depressed) you might take a look at The Witchery by the Castle. We stayed our wedding night in their Library Suite.

Stunning. Absolutely stunning. And Roxy (their concierge, assistant, not sure what his title actually is!) is a character in and of himself.

The Real Mary King's Close is an interesting tour.
