Actually, my belts will go all the way up to 80" if need be (maybe further but I've not done tests out that far ). I just need to add a bit to the cost for the extra leather on sizes over 50". The largest I've done so far is 60" and that even allowed for about 7 " of adjustment .

Freddie, they will work on any sporran with d-ring capability. If a sporran doesn't have ad-rings there is a product like this to slip into the pocket on the back of the sporran to accommodate the hangers.

    Sporran issues

The only thing I can do is keep my sporran chain so tight to keep it higher but that constricts the hanging effect at the top of the kilt. I wish I had a better option or could find some way to make this stop happening at least until I can get rid of this blasted beer gut I've developed.
I have the same problem with the sporran. The one way I have found to reduce this is by using the loops of leather that came with my belt. I organize them so they sit just a little forward of the side-seams in my shirt and then feed the sporran straps through the loops and buckle in the back. This reduces the problem but does not eliminate it.

And what are those loops really meant for?

Unfortunately at 5'11" I still weigh 250 even though I was up to 300 at one point. Most of the excess is in my (beer)belly. I can't find a pair of pants to fit me properly. With a 42" waste I still have no butt. Pants makers seem to think that if you have a large waist that you are large everywhere so I have this mass of extra material in the back that my wife calls droopybutt. Kilts obviously don't have that problem. My main problem is that with my belly the size it is it is hard to keep the kilt riding around my naval. It tends to want to fall to my hips even with a good belt. Pulling up the kilt is still better than having my backside slipping off.

I'm not as big as a lot of guys, 5'9"+ and just under 230 pounds, but most of the 230 is in my gut. Like a lot of you, I have no butt, my hip measurement is just about the same as my waist. Since I've been wearing kilts I've gotten more compliments than ever before. Most of the compliments have been from younger women that never even looked at me before I started wearing kilts.

I'm 5'8" and 240. I'm shaped like a barrel. Short and fat. Oh, and UGLY! However, because of the KILT, I still get hit on! It amazes me!

I am a Big Guy and a Kilt maker!

"With threads like this, and more comments from men like yourselves, all kiltmakers will start to understand the problems unique to "Men of substance"."

This is why I started making my own kilts! There is a reason why my handle is Sumo Kilt!

If your clothing, in this case a kilt, is properly made, you will look great no matter your size.

In fact I made one for a fellow "Wee Jamus" Who was 6ft 5in and 430 lbs!

He looked great and was so proud that someone understood.

    All the best gang!

    Yours in pleats

I'm a big guy. 6 foot 2 and weigh in over the 400lbs mark. The biggest problem with most trousers in the 54" waist is the rise. With a huge belly, most pants tend to tighten ahem "down below" and are really uncomfortable.

I only own a UK mocker in black(so far), but with their current shortage....oh well.

Any advise on where to get an affordable casual kilt for a big fellow?

As I'm sure others will tell you,StillWaterKilts. I know they have some models up to 52" and they will fit big. I know because I have one in Saffron. Go to the casual kiltmakers link on the left of the screen to check them out. Good prices and great shipping.

    OK.

Fulled the trigger on Irish National Economy, matching flashes, and a nightstalker sporran. Now let the waiting begin.
