Gee, wish I was there .....with a camera!
OK how much have you been drinking starbkjus? Kindly look at the name of the thread... now look at the calender... now, oh never mind, yes we had a good time, the wiaitresses just loving men in kilts completley ignore trousered patrons who left in a huff. This is now the entirely kilt-only pub in North America!!!!
Geez I'd say "Get a life, Man" but pot, kettle, black, nothing more will be said.

Great night. Pleasure meeting ScoutNiagara. Only the two of us could make it though and no pics. Compared Stillwaters, Scout attracted the attention of a couple of young ladies. Cute girl was making eye cantact with me, that was until I realized see was watching the hockey game on tv behind me! At least Scout impressed the ladies.

Yes, 'twas a pleasure to meet Grant (CCGA)... We chatted about many things, and yes, two ladies sat beside us in a "booth" and we on bar stools. The one lady asked me if I was Scottish, and I replied, "No, I'm Canadian." She took one look at my kilt, and asked why I was wearing a kilt. I briefly said that it was a male garment and asked her why she was wearing pants as I pointed to her attire. The two ladies laughed at the true observation, sat down with smiles on their faces. We'd had a bit of fun.
I did notice many ladies who passed us coming into the bar, look at our kilts and smile. At least we brightened up their evening. Did they know? ;)
As I said, it was a pleasure to meet Grant, but I think, personally, that for me to drive an hour or more to one of the SOKS Kilt Nights, I'd like a few more people to attend.
Re: the bar... It was fine at first with a muted hockey game on the lower two TVs, but once the DJ began to play, you could barely hear your neighbour. Also, I'd have thought the music would have included at least some celtic/Irish. Yes, the waitresses did look lovely in their short tartan skirts. I left my camera in the car so no photos.
We didn't leave till after 11.
CYA all at the Scottish Rite?

Gentlemen... I feel personally responsible for contributing to the low attendance numbers. Couldn't be helped. I had family come down from Ottawa to visit. As it happens, next kilt night is on April 7, and wouldn't you know it... I will be attending a friends wedding.
Perhaps we can shift the date for the next SOCKS extravaganza to March 31?
Cheers,
Rick

Well we have Scottish Rites Club in Hamilton on the 29th of March, and Hunting McLeod (Corey's band) are slated for March 31st in Milton.

So, if the other fine gentlemen of SOCKs acquiesce, let's make that our kilt nite.
All in favour....

Rick

Aye! Bear in mind that Milton is not yet firmed up as the band is currently undergoing lineup changes.

I think, the Scottish Rite will serve as my monthly kilt night.
Are there any celtic-themed bars in the Hamilton/Burlington area? If kilt nights are advertised at those bars, wouldn't we get more joining in?

I believe Slainte in Hamilton would be a great place to start I'll contact the owner and see what he thinks.

You know it just 'aint fair living in the center of it all! By all means I think SOKS should move around. Let us spead the power of the kilt, after all the more people see us klted then more people see us kilted.
