"poor man's sporran"
Well, I thought that this was a more appropriate place to show this off.
well I will start with some of the details,
it is made of white all cotton heavy fabric, like a kaki trouser. it is 9 inches by 9 inches. I was planning on doing it in all leather. I had everything sitting out in my workshop and here comes Mom with the puppy. warning for dog owners, puppys who like chewing things, LOVE leather. but anyways I have the need for a sporran, and I have the patterns all cut and made in paper. so I thought I would try fabric. and maybe I can get out the the craft store soon and get some more leather.
quick question along that lines, does anyone know if the wal-mart fabric selection carries the fake plastic leather, I think I might try one in that before the real stuff. but I don't know where to get any. I belive it is called
the back reenforcement and front reenforcement are both heavyer leather, the back one is a heavy tanned one that I could carve if I had the skill to. (have the tools but not the skill )
but anyways, here are the pictures:
First is the size compairison, the boot is a US size 9

Next we have the front with flap closed

front with flap open

back with flap open

front with bag open

oh and if you wonder why I call it the poor man's sporran, it cost me a total of 3 hours to make, and about 30 cents of raw materials.
but I am really pleased with it. it holds everything I need it to.
tell me what you think, and you don't have to be polite
~Casey
