A-Hay, I goto Vilseck every now and then and will look you up when I go there next. Do you where your kilt on post often?

I wear a kilt most every Sunday to church at Vilseck and then to the PX and Commissary. I have a "fan club" of folks who now expect me to wear a kilt!
I wear it to Hail and Farewell's also and to some other social events. Haven't generally worn it on the economy because of Force Protection concerns of calling attention to one's self. I have worn a kilt to office social events and always get good comments from my German colleagues and employees. Enjoy it and have fun with it over here.
Send me a PM if you head over this way and I'll give you a phone number.
Tom

Welcome from Eastern Washington—I'm a retired Air Force officer and have been stationed in Germany. Best of luck with your new kilt.

Though I have never been stationed in Germany I used to wear my kilt on base here stateside a lot. I however felt that you both might get a kick out of the thought of me coming in to deal with a soldier when I had been out at a punk show. I came striding into the barricks past the CQ with my dragon pleated, patch covered kilt and a band t-shirt on with what little hair I had spicked up with a blue colored gel and matched set of studed wrist bands and collor. Needless to say I had to show my ID to the startled SPC who promptly realized that yelling at me(SGT) had not been his wisest idea of the weekend, and he got off lucky compared to the soldier I got called in to deal with.

Welcome from Roswell GA. I visited Heidelberg when I was on a reforger-like exercise called Brigade '76. 6 month TDY at Weisbaden, with training trips to Grafenvoehr and Hohenfehls. Heidelberg Castle was awesome!
