    Here we go again!

Here we go again with another "It didn't follow the book" whine fest. I am sorry but how long does it take people to get it through their skulls full of mush that it is a MOVIE!!!! Very few books brought to the screen are ever anything like the book. THAT'S Hollywood!! Come on people! If many books were brought to the screen as they were written, many movies would last 8-10 hours!

I apologize for venting but I tire very easily of this kind of thing. You would figure that buy now it would get through to some. Bottom line, its a movie, enjoy it for that fact.

    Flame on!

I would normally agree with this statement but sometimes the movie is SO much different that you can't even say that it was based off of a book!

That stupid Lemony Snickett movie was like that. It was based off the first three books in that series and they still had stuff in there not from the books! I actually got my money back for that one.

If you're going to base a movie on a book you should at least keep it similar. Otherwise it's something other than what's being 'promised'.

I've read the first book and I actually enjoyed the movie. One must realize that when a book is turned into a movie, stuff is left out for the sake of time. If you simply go see it as a movie and don't think about the book, I think it was well done and might be worth getting the DVD.

I enjoyed the movie to a point. Never read the book, but have lots of youth in my church who really liked it and have read the book. Their point of view that the movie is really only the thoughts of the book via the director. (LOTR comes to mind, he did butcher some of Toilkens work) However with LOTR, I did not feel the movie compromised the book, too exhustive to do not to have left some key and interesting things out. However, with this movie, as far as movies go, it felt like the rushed the plot along. I could be wrong, someone who read the book could tell me. It just seemed like a couple of the scenes could have been better acted. It probably could have been improved but it was somewhat enjoyable.
