Mike,
The kilt looks great! Glad to see you out and enjoying it. Mind if I use those pics in my gallery?
And to those asking about the weight, 16 oz is my preferred weight of cloth for making box pleated kilts. Given that these kilts only use half the yardage of a typical kilt, it's the best of both worlds. You get all the advantages of using really nice heavy weight kilt cloth (fewer wrinkles, great hang, super durability, great feel to it, easier to work with), but you also get to enjoy a lighter, more comfortable kilt because it's only half the yardage.
Aye,
Matt

Just wait until you try a box-pleated kilt in 11-oz. cotton!

Very nice kilt. I wondered what the Isle of Skye tartan would look like when box pleated to stripe. Now I know.

By all means Matt! Use away!

Your Isle of Skye looks great! I've been toying with the idea of an IOS in a box pleat too. Hmmmm . . .
For those who were asking about the weight of the box pleat, I have a box pleat from Matt in Lochcarron's 16 ounce Strome and several Utilikilts. The box pleat feels much more substantial than the Utilikilt as far as weight goes. My Utilikilts don't really swing, while the box pleat does have a swing (although probably less than a knife pleat).
