Greetings all, (or should I say Howdy y'all?) especially to you X-Markers in the DFW area. It's good to be in your company. I've taken two steps forward this fine day by letting you know I've been lurking around for a couple of weeks and also by ordering my first "real" kilt...a USA semi-traditional in the Clark/Clergy tartan.

I discovered my Scottish roots about seven years ago and had set my sights on the seemingly unattainable goal of having a custom, wool kilt made. It seems that the semi-trad from USA will do nicely until my ship comes in (or all the kids quit coming back). Oddly, my motivation for seeking all of you out and going for a good fitted kilt came from a show I'm in where I play a Scotsman and wear a kilt. It's a sport kilt (the costumer had no clue about kilts since they typically outfit 1880s cowboy types) and I enjoy it for what it is, but years of attending Highland games told me it just didn't fit like it should.

Hey, maybe some of you could come to the show when I'm performing. I saw in the archives that Richard Jordan came to our show (kilted) last year and said he had a good time. It'd be great if a few of you could make it out in your kilts and blow the minds of the rest of the cast. We're doing the Murder Mystey dinner theater at the Gaylord Texan and everyone else wears authentic 1880s western wear (of course they think they're dressed perfectly normal, but me in a kilt...). Maybe we could set up a date for a gathering!

Anyway, its good to be in your company.

Mark
