Thanks for all the greetings. We just got back from dinner. Me in my Irish National and my son in his Black Watch. My wife did not even want to walk in with us. The looks and comments were priceless. The more I wear them the more I like it.
I just ordered 2 of the thrifty kilts from Stillwater so that I would have a kilt to wear around the house.

A year ago I also went one a cruise. And I wore my first kilt ever for most of the cruise.

It was a very nice feeling.

A warm welcome to ya taxdragon.
Yes, yes, the cruise is greatly enhanced and pleasure factors magnified when the fun quotient attitude is heightened! ! !
Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?

yes the wearing of a kilt on a formal night is acceptable. It can be rented in Toronto at the Scottish Company, and shipped to your locations, if your still interested.

Welcome Taxdragon from Michigan. My wife and I along with a few friends have a cruise booked for the first week in December. By then I'll have my modern Lamont from Matt and hope to take it with me - but first I'll need to get my wife comfortable with it. Wish me luck!

    Welcome aboard!

Definitely wear your kilt on a cruise. The nicest things can happen to you:

I have the same problem - my wife even has issues about stepping over puddles! So I don't suppose I'll ever get to go on a cruise.

    Kilted crusing

As soon as they got one look at us in full formal, prince charlie jackets and tux shirts, they were sold also.
We had so much fun! From cat calls from a table of girls at dinner to 70yr old ladies asking what we had under them we had great fun.
I was then hooked. I now own 3 kilts, one formal & two casual, the prince charlie jacket and vest and 3 sporrans.
We can't wait until our next cruise.......

I've warn my kilt on 3 cruises over the last 3 years and will be again next week when I'm off to Iceland! There has always been a few other guys kilted on the formal nights and occasionally casually after that.

I was challenged once by a drunken Scot who implied I had no right to wear mine, but I put him in his place and frankly told him where to go!!!

Walking on the prom deck, with a warm sea breeze swirling round your ankles is a wonderful feeling. I will endeavour to get some pics and post.
