Well, regardless of all the bad tales, this was still a pretty cool experience.
Good for you.

Sorry, didnt mean to make this veer off-topic. It's still an AWESOME story about the power of the kilt and breaking down stereotypes etc.
Perhaps other people have fun and similar stories to share? Perhaps a whole new thread for these stories would be an entertaining idea?
That men do not learn very much from the lessons of history is the most important of all the lessons of history.

Bikers for the most part are good folks. Just a little out of the mainstream. I can relate to that.
I think that HA are a little different though. As much as bikers get romantized expecially by boomers here in America, HA are well known as criminals on a huge scale. Drugs, prostitution, murder, extortion, you name it. These people are not role models for anything.
I think you are very fortunate they were having a good day.
It don't mean a thing, if you aint got that swing!!

I ride a bike and I have a "few" tattoos. I know I don't speak for all motorcycle riders but I think most bikers will appreciate someone "stepping out of the norm."

Having ridden with an outlaw club for a big part of my life I can vouch for the old saying "When we do right, no one remembers. When we do wrong, no one forgets!"
That said, there is definitely a downside to the biker lifestyle, & I dont regret getting out of it for a minute.
Besides, motorcycle chains are absolute murder on a kilt. Particularly at 70mph

That applies to all walks of life no matter who they are or what they claim to be.
A good story though.

Heading here huh. We have a charter in Little Rock I think. I had a teacher last year that was a HA, even asked me if I wanted to join if I ever get my old knuckle head running (doubt either will ever happen).

I remember a bunch of them who used to come by my dad's service station when I worked there as a teen. Seemed like nice, salt of the earth guys. They had a sort of "fortress" down the road a bit. I know once they chased away a robber who was trying to break in to the old lady's house next door. Then, a few years later I picked up the paper and saw their pictures on the front page. About the only thing they weren't charged with was jaywalking. You just never know....
