Yes... And Polaris is just for submariners, so there's less of a market for it.
Also, there's the Seabees tartan... again, just for Seabees, so not as much of a market.
I just spoke to Jerry at SWK... He said that if we weave the Edzell, he won't. Also, if he weaves it (which he indicated he didn't want to do), we won't... no point in doubling what our 2 companies are offering.

Well, so far, there seems to be a pretty clear bias for you, Rocky.
And, unless my count is wrong, we currently have 8 "yes" sayers, and 1 "yes, but not right now." So we still need at least a dozen more.

Hmmm...Rocky....Navy tartan....well, my father was a hospital apprentice in the USN in 1937 before he learned to fly and became a fighter pilot. I did some time in the Navy League's Sea Cadet Corps and Naval ROTC in college before the Marine's Shanghai'd me...if my plastic cools down. I do have the Orvis Navy tartan shirt and like it...so put me down for a definate maybe semi-trad and keep me posted. Might be an excuse to pick up that Ebbetts Field Flannels Navy letterman jacket...I am sooo addicted...someone get me to kilt rehab quick!

maybe....
Just my $0.02 worth... but would it help if folks knew what the tartan in question looked like?
As for me, price is a bit of a consideration (I'm a part-time student who is looking at relocating across the pacific from Australia to the USA after all), however my father-in-law was US Navy. I wonder if I would be doing his memory a dis-service if I wore such a tartan?

You can see the tartan in question here.

Rocky makes very reasonably priced kilts... you can see them by clicking on the link at the left side of the sponsor bar. I can't, of course, say exactly what he'd charge, but I can't imagine it would be much more than the kilts he already offers -- and that only because of increased cost for liscensing for the tartan.
A couple of people have asked, so I'll say that as a sailor, I absolutely don't think it is in any way wrong or disrespectful to wear the tartan in memory of a loved one. Indeed, both of my fathers served in the US Army, and that tartan is on my list to get a kilt in... after a nice Navy tartan for my own service.

One of my Grandfathers was a squid. But, I have a thing about wearing "military" tartans I have no direct association with. I hope you guys can get a run going though, it's a beauty. Oh, and as far as an Air Force nickname:
"Flyboy" (really mostly for pilots) or "Wingnut" was the one I got a lot (used a lot for AF mechanics.) I've also heard "Pigeon" as a reference to a member of the Air Force, but not often. Wanna provoke a hotheaded Airman? Tell him "Hoorah Chair Force!" Never bothered me much, I just laughed usually... depended though I guess....

US Navy Kilt
As a US Navy vetern I would be interested. I vote for Rocky, but would consider other Kilt makers.

Mr. MacDougall,
If you get this together I would also order the Tartan in a kilted skirt for my wife. CR66
