No synthetic fur is going to match the softness of beave, so for texture the beaver one is the clear winner.

However I would vote for the Lesser Acryla beast one. I think it is a better looking sporran that would go with more outfits than the beaver one. I am not a fan of gold/brass in my kilt accessories. The gold highlights of the beaver sporran are too formal for most occasions (actually to me they screams "trying too hard" to be fancy). The simple silver of the first sporran is classy, which I'll take any day over "fancy".

Yes but it's LESSER Acrylabeast! If it were GREATER Acrylibeast that would be a different story. My life is too valuable to hunt such an animal. But if someone were to capture one and forcibly hand it over to me then forget the beaver...

Possibly this will be worn with my Maple Leaf most of the time which will have oxblood straps and brass buckles, with similar material on the braided sporran strap & ranger belt (this is all for when Canuck slows down and gives me a second thought!).

Update, beaver sporran has been ordered and is currently being made. I shall have in two weeks. This I found more environmentaly sensitive than the lesser arctic acrylabeast as it will save trees for future generations.

Does Panache know that you have given up the hunt for the acrylabeast? This could really affect the outcome of his tale.

Very nice, congratulations on the fine sporran, I think it will look excellent with the Maple Leaf tartan.

I have not given up the hunt for the Greater Arctic Acrylibeast. It's merely not worth my life for a lesser quality, lesser arctic acrylabeast. There is a difference you know, and a story to complete. One in which I shall be the victor, and Panache etal the vanquished. But until that time I shall keep my smokes in truly Canadian ex-beaver.
