In lieu of a tux?

Well, the director said that he liked it, but that it probably wouldn't work very well. So, I guess I'll just have to don trousers for the performances. Unless I can get all the other men in the choir kilted

Well he didn't say no up front at least, but I think you are better off anyway in this instance.

Even if you could only get your section kilted, that might make it "uniform" enough that you could make it work!

You gents need to hitch up those kilts. The white shirt should not be showing between the vest and the kilt.

Some would tell you not to wear a vest and a belt together.

Coemgen, I think you made the right decision to stay in uniform.
