Matt, at the Scottish Tartan Museum can come close to those prices, on a casual kilt, and you will get a better quality kilt without the poor customer service. He can also get any tartan you want
If you are interested, I am looking to make a kilt for someone other than myself and brothers. I won't charge you labor, only material and shipping. PM me if you are interested. I would only ask that you review and critique the finished kilt here.

I would go with a custom sewn 8 yarder and spend the huge amount of money but I am still a young guy and growing taller. I dont want to wear it for a year or so and then have to sell it because i out grew it.

    Who's Matt? newb here.

I think the store that you guys link is that celtic crofte, even though they're expensive they have the tartan i want.

In all seriousness if you're not done growing, I would hold off on getting a TRUELY nice kilt and be a bit more economical. If you like any of the tartans that SWK carries, their kilts are, for the money, some of hte best bang for the buck. Myself, my next nice wool kilt will be from Matt Newsome myself.

There are ways to adjust the length and waist/hips of kilts. You can have hidden pleats and a hem on the bottom.

hmm, i guess that makes sense, maybe next kilt should be a universal kilt, that way i dont have to part of the group or family to wear it. i'll see to it.

i'll keep matt in mind and a few others.

Have a look at the 5 yard wool kilts from USA Kilts as well.

Clansman has a very bad reputation for not delivering on their promises (if at all). Buyer beware is an understatement given the reviews we have seen here and on other forums.
