I had been looking for a LONG time trying to figure out where to get one, and thinking that there must be a cheaper option out there somewhere. After I made the mistake of buying a Kommando Kilt at The Texas Ren-Fest last year, I realized that sometimes you get what you pay for. So, it was with great trepidation that I began again my search for an affordable kilt. Well, I stumbled across this site, and all of your helpful comments. If it weren't for this site, I would be all kinds of jacked up in public. You guys really help with the finer adjustments that need to be known, but are hard to know for a beginning kiltie.
So, I ordered a Thrifty kilt for my son a few months ago, and was ASTONISHED at the qulaity and speed of delivery. I couldn't believe what I got for so little money. My son was happy. I was happy. And I also had found my kilt maker. I just bought my Royal Stewart Standard, belt/buckle, sporran, socks, and flashes from SWK, and I cannot wait to get them. I have an event to wear them to this weekend, and every ounce of faith that SWK will get them to me on time. I only hope I do the kilt justice. It's just too bad I didn't have it for The Austin Celtic Festical last weekend. My Utilikit just isn't the same as a tartan kilt.
Anyway, thanks everyone for all of your help. There are probably others just like me lurking, and learning from all of your posts.
And thanks SWK for such a terrific product! I'm planning on buying my son another kilt, and probably buying myself one each of each different catagory!
Peace.

Seriously, nobody beats Jerry when it comes to customer service, and I won't be asking about a freebe till I get to an even dozen (not that far off....)
What?? You didn't get your punch card with any of those kilts...?
And remember, wool heavyweights are good for two punches.

Jerry's Products are great
After reading about SWK on the board, I ordered a standard Irish National and a thrifty Black Watch. Both arrived within a week and after removing the basting have been superb to wear. The Black Watch is my around the house kilt. The Irish National is great in my travels about town. Both are very comfortable. Fortunately the 24" length is not that much over the 23.5 that I measure. --- Steve
