I piped a St. Andrews Dinner; sold out, really good haggis, and even better company. A good time was had by all.

Happy St Andrew's Day to all!

Today I will be wearing my Scotland National tartan tank and a suitably Scottish T shirt!

I'm presently a stranger in a strange land (in Santa Clara CA on business) but I brought my USAK Scottish National kilt and my Marjoribanks polo shirt. I expect to be giving the locals something to talk about at breakfast this morning. This is not the part of the country I expect many kilts are seen...

    Aye,

Happy St. Andrew's Day for sure. This olde Pagan will celebrate with the believers and wear his Macdonald of Kingsburgh hand sewn to work today. Have encouraged coworkers to at least wear tartan something. We'll see how it goes.

Macdonald of Kingsburgh is as close as I can get to "gang colors" since my ancestors came from Uig, Skye just a bit down the road from Kingsburgh...all on the Trotternish Peninsula.

Well, my wife is Scottish, and I'm Orthodox, so I'll take it that I fall in that greeting...sort of!

    Happy St. Andrew Day!

I just got off the breakfast shift in the dorm cafeteria. I wrote "Happy St. Andrews Day" on the menu board, and got to teach a little history to any students who asked what it was.

When asked if that was why I was wearing a kilt, I said it's more of an excuse to wear a kilt than anything else.

And Russian! The Order of St. Andrew was one of the highest awards of Tsarist Russia, and the Russian navy still uses a blue saltire on a white field as their naval jack.
