So everyone wants details. Here they are: 16oz MacGregor tartan woven by Locharron and stitched by one of their kiltmakers. Ordered through the Scottish Tartans Museum (thanks, Matt!).
It fits perfectly. I haven't removed the basting stitches yet, because then I would be tempted to strap it on and head out the door immediately, and I am trying to wait until Saturday night. My daughter is in a play, and I wish to attend in my finest. First outing for the tank, first outing for the Argyll jacket. The only disappointment was that Matt was out of the green garter ties, so I could only get the red and black ones that came in the same box. I had a few extra days of jonesing for it because the FedEx guy missed me by about half an hour when he first tried to deliver last Saturday. Kind of a good thing, since as a result it showed up on Kilt Day.

Pics of me wearing it will show up some time after the play. I will take my camera and have my daughter take a picture or two.

This kilt has about 30 pleats with a 3/4 inch reveal. The deep pleat goes almost halfway across the apron, and the reverse pleat about a quarter. This thing is HEAVY! My poor little clamp-style hanger can barely hold it. It is time to research the kilt hanger threads to find a better solution for suspending it in my closet during those unfortunate times it can't be suspended from my waist.
