I've been on the internet since well before it was actually called The Internet and I have to say I've never before run across a community quite like this one. I've met people that I will call friend for the rest of my days - both face to face and "keyboard to keyboard".

A heartfelt thanks from me as well to Hank et. al. I've gained an awful lot here.

Well done, sir! Given my native climate, I'm seriously wondering about a seersucker kilt suit.

BTW Bob: are you pleating it to the stripe, or to the sett?

I joined just two years ago at a time when, after three years of regular kilt wearing, and owning just three, all traditional, wool kilts, my kilt wearing was on the decline. Now I have nine traditional wool kilts and collecting two more next week, plus another eighteen assorted kilts - polycotton, PVC, and acrylic tartan kilts and non-traditional style kilts. When I get my XMTS 4-yard box pleat some time in the new year that will bring me up to 30 - a tenfold increase and nowadays I very rarely wear trousers. Plus since joining here I have actually met around twenty to thirty members of this forum in addition to the fellowship of virtual friends made here. Truly a unique and life changing forum.

I echo Steve's comments... this place is a home for me. It helps to make what I do "worthwhile" and makes Kelly and my hard work feel appreciated. As one of the "O.G.'s" up here, I'm THRILLED to see how this site has grown and matured, yet at the same time stayed true to what Hank set it out to be... a place to talk about KILTS and discus different points of view ABOUT KILTS. I like how well the Mods have handled themselves and shaped this site in keeping with Hank's vision.

I welcome all newbies and look forward to fresh perspectives on things and look forward to the next 4 years.

As one of the newbies, I must say that I'm really glad I stumbled onto this forum. Funny people, in-depth discussions of kilts. good reviews and good company. What more could you want? I mean aside from free kilts.
I've already had the good fortune of briefly meeting Mael and GatorNeck in real person and look forward to meeting others. I am not a real forum junkie so the fact that I find myself on here day after day says something about it. Either I need a life or the forum's great. Maybe both!

This is my second forum. I have been on a car forum where I upgraded Rangers. I would have been on more throughout my changes of interest, but the internet wasn't available then... oops, TMI

    Cheers everyone

Yes, this is indeed a great forum. I've only been here since July and learned so much about the kilted life. My wardrobe of kilts has expontential grown. I feel like I've known the folks here for a much longer time.

It's been great actually meeting in person several of the members, echoing TKW comments. Both online and offline I have made true friends. I am especially appreciative of the help and advice that I've received. Gosh, I think a tear is welling up in the corner of my eye.
