Yeah, and just about anything I'd want to buy, I can buy at the Highland Games.

Well... Just my gut tells me that the Highlands would have some things that are not as costoomy as the Ren. I don't know for sure, but that's just my gut feeling, and not that there's anything wrong with costoomy stuff. I was thinking of earrings, hair clasps, maybe even kilt stuff.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Add to that the fact that all the vendors at the Ren Fest have web sites, and there's less than a reason to go to the Ren Fest. Plus the Wicked Tinkers are playing the Highland Games this year...

The Ren Fest and the various games around Arizona are about the only social events I go to... so I'll go, even at the higher prices. I'll probably take advantage of buying advance tickets from Fry's, which in past years has been worth a couple of dollars off.

It's still only a few dollars. The long and short of it is that we can afford one or the other, but not both. I'd rather go to the Highland games this year.
