I almost went with a Barbour Commando jacket when I ordered my jacket several years ago, but I decided to go with a Beaufort instead -- the classic wax jacket -- but any Barbour is worth its weight in gold.

Actually, the military V necks I have seen all have the tab. Incidently, in the Army that spot is where you put your name tag, and I believe the unit insignia (It's been a while, but I believe that's what I put there).

Our commando sweaters in the NPS have two; one for our name plate, and one for our badge.

definitely check sportsman's guide! If he doesnt have any in stock, keep checking every week or so because he gets new stuff all the time and it is VERY cheap.
