Don't know where you are on the planet or who you work for, but if someone said that to me at work it would be enough to get him fired...particularly if that rude, insensitive behavior was repeated.
Maybe time to hang a nice photo of Sir Sean Connery kilted on your office door.

Or maybe a still photo from Rob Roy. Especially when Rob's cleaving Archibald Cunningham in twain!

Great story. Buy her some flowers.
And just remember, if it weren't for knuckleheads like the shop geek, we'd all just be average.

Great story...Unfortunately, I would be out of a job for knocking his teeth in, but then, that's me and I can always find gainful employment...I agree it's better to settle things through the chain-of-command and you now have a witness to back your complaint...I've just never been tolerable of idiots like that or the system...Explains why I'm here I guess. (I'm just a baby kiltie...I still have my pampers on)
Please pass on our sentiments to her for backing the kilt.

Good story!
In my experience, sometimes it's the Ladies that become the fanatics about kilt wear much more than the men.
The other night, in Hooters, while sitting there drinking with Kiltedin USMC an elderly matron approached and paid us compliments on our kilts and she was very positive in her opinions. Her companion was, seemed to be, a bit embarrassed that she had the gumption to approach to rowdies in a bar to talk kilts...
