My lass has gone shopping for stuff for me since we started dating. So far I have 3 maps from either 82nd Airborne or 101st Airborne locations in France and a piece of parachute silk from the Normandy drops. I've collected sand from Omaha Beach, a piece of concrete from the German structures at Point du Hoc, a couple of PsyOp leaflets I found in a field near Baghdad during the invasion, a couple of fragments from some rockets that were fired at us in January, a couple of flags from Karbala and Baghdad, and some old Iraqi money. I had three bayonets that I found in Karbala and carried all the way to Mosul, but they made us turn them in back then. Nowadays you're allowed to keep them.
I'm a well rounded guy - English motorcycles, Irish brew, and Scottish clothes and music.

OFCJAX, have you found anything out yet?
I never thought to pick up any kind of souvenir from my time in the Airborne, other than a tattoo that earned me a couple of weeks extra duty!

I washed all the Danang mud off I could, 'cause I never wanted to see it again. However, now . . .
I AM NOT a Hollywood Marine!!! While from the west, I was on the East Coast when I enlisted. Then the Corps, in all it's wisdom, saw fit to send me to Comm School at MCRDSD after boot camp.

Got those too.... But they're where they don't usually show.
One other thing that I have that I am really fond of is a flag that has been flown at every place that I have been stationed and a few places just because. For instance, I sent it to the White house and they flew it there for a few moments. They used to have a crew of people who cranked up and down flags all day for congressmen and the like to give away. When I heard of this program, I made a few calls, and it was relatively easy to get my flag added to the cue.
Back on topic - I have discovered no knowledge of the initial question from anybody that I have talked to.

Boldhighlander - what size rocks do you have, excuse me are you looking for. I live about 45 minutes south west of Gettysburg and get up there frequently.
If you PM me with your address I will tape it to my monitor and the next time I'm near Culp's Hill I'll pick one up for you.

Is that a new form of "the question" Grant?
